Kodak Moment & Alexia Harshing
The Lucky Penny Stakes were quickly approaching and, for Silver Stride Stables, that meant that two of their horses were to go head on head in an actual race. Kodak Moment and Seattle Sun - they were already training partners when one needed a spur in the right direction - but now the workouts that they would do would be able to benefit them both. After all, there was nothing like competition to fuel the fires of competitive spirits and these two were indeed competitive. Who would come ontop in an actual race no one really knew, but both would be given every chance to show their guts.Perhaps one of them would even come home with the victory, but that was yet to be seen.
The chestnut and bay walked with their respective partners, each contmplating the challenge ahead. Both wanted to win, both wanted to prove that they had what it took. Neither of them had any plans of giving in to the other. Bothwere calm, both were confident, and it was going to be quite a thing to see them compete against each other. Kodi tossed her head as they walked down toward the track, her energy obvious, but Seattle didn't make any kind of fuss. He was too busy conserving his energy for the race.
Once they were gaited the jockey's wished each other luck and when the gate opened and the bell rang the race began. Kodi settled in behind Sam as they started their eight furlong run, matching his pace as he moved onwards. But as the race progressed Kpdi began to slip back, the preceder starting his move earlier. As they rounded the corner Kodi pushed to catch up with Sam and down the straight their was a great fight. They passed the post head on head, only a nose between them and neither jockey was sure which horse had won.
